Temperature sensing equipment with permanent probes and a handy digital display is known as Digital Thermometer. The type of sensor used in a digital thermometer determines how it functions. The resistance temperature detector, thermocouple, and thermistor are examples of sensor types. Each variety has its own set of benefits and drawbacks. Resistance temperature detectors are wire windings or other thin film serpentines that alter resistance when temperature varies. They use the positive temperature coefficient of electrical resistance of metals to monitor temperature. In addition, the higher their electrical resistance becomes, the hotter they grow.
